Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder
Definition
Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder not disease which restricts one child to behave like a aged child. It mainly associated with repetitive, restrictive behaviour, non verbal communication, they are unable to make eye contact, shows narrow or short interest and also sometimes unable to build social communication.
Symptoms
Common ASD symptoms are –
1.Abnormalities in making eye contacts
2.Rigid routines
3.Narrow interest
4.Inappropriate communication skills (express is words or phrases)
5.Hyper or hypo activity
6.Restrictions in changes in behaviour
7.Difficulties in playing reciprocal games
8.Repetitive behaviours like hand flapping
9.Aged parents having child can be a risk factor for autism
10.Unusual sensory inputs
Possible causes
1.Causes are still unknown. Gene sequencing can bring major effects.
2.Prenatal conditions like diabetes, bleeding, and some prescriptive medicines can cause autism.
3.Not conclusive but seen in most of the cases that abnormal intrauterine growth can cause autism.
4.Severe air pollution can be a risk factor .
Effects
1.Basically autistic children make less or least or hesitate to communicate.
2.Abrupt talking or useless talking.
3.Sensory problems to sensory inputs.
4.Weak in intelligence.
5.Doing same thing on a regular basis.
Conclusion
Though there is no cure for autism, but various kind of therapeutic treatment can build their understanding to different aspects of life which helps them to change their rigid routines.
